Medical treatment for radiation exposure

To ensure safety against environmental radioactivity and radiation, it is first of all important to monitor their levels accurately. When an emergency arises at a nuclear facility, a medical treatment system for radiation exposure is organized in conjunction with related organizations in order to provide neighboring residents and workers at nuclear facilities (exposed to radiation) with medical treatment for radiation exposure and contamination, and for general illnesses caused by disorder during the emergency.

This medical treatment system for radiation exposure consists of the following:
  • Initial medical treatment system for radiation exposure with an emphasis on outpatient treatment
  • Secondary medical treatment system for radiation exposure with an emphasis on hospitalization
  • Tertiary medical treatment system for radiation exposure which requires specialized hospitalization
