Bases for the prevention of nuclear disasters
Followings are bases for disaster prevention related to MEXT:

MEXT Emergency Operation Center
Emergency Operation Center of MEXT is intended to establish emergency operation centers for nuclear disasters, emergency response headquarters in the event of nuclear disasters or natural disasters including earthquake, wind and flood damages. Equipped with telephone lines, facsimile machines and TV conference systems, the center has ample space, houses a large number of people related to the emergency operation centers and emergency response headquarters, and serves functions as an operation center as prescribed by the national government's Basic Plan for Disaster Prevention. Because Special Law of Emergency Preparedness for Nuclear Disaster requires the implementation of precise activities for the prevention of nuclear disasters, with off-site emergency centers at the sites as cores in cooperation with the national government, local governments and related organizations, this center is equipped with communication equipment and materials for exclusive use for these activities.

Off-site Emergency Centers
Based on the Act for Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures, off-site emergency centers are base facilities in order for the national government's emergency operation centers for nuclear disasters at the site, and prefectural governments' and municipalities' emergency response headquarters to organize meetings for taking joint measures against nuclear disasters, and to take temporary measures with shared information in cooperation with each other in the event of an emergency at a nuclear facility.

Nuclear Emergency Assistance & Training Centers (NEAT)
Japan Atomic Energy Agency provide technological supports for those engaging in the prevention of nuclear disasters in the national government, local governments, police, fire departments and corporations.
Nuclear Emergency Assistance & Training Centers are established as bases for activities in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture. In the event of an accident, information is shared through off-site emergency centers across the nation and information networks, and technical advice is given in tandem with the central administration and specialists who respond to the prevention of nuclear disasters at the site.
Centers for support activities and training are equipped with various kinds of communication equipment in order to pursue the purposes of preparation for emergencies. In addition, there are also projectors, computers and other equipment which are used for training related people during normal time.

Emergency Preparedness Technology Center (EPTC)
The Emergency Preparedness Technology Center (EPTC) was established by Nuclear Safety Technology Center in Rokkasho-mura, Aomori Prefecture as a base for supporting the disaster prevention activities of local governments in the event of an emergency, and for investigations and researches matters related to the prevention of nuclear disasters and providing training for the prevention of nuclear disasters during normal time.
